About

“My goal is to be on top of the podium as often as possible. I also want to attract other girls to this sport and to be a good role model for others.”

Chiara Bättig
Kart racer
Chiara Bättig is a promising talent in junior motorsport and is a two-time Swiss Karting Champion, winning the OK Junior title in her homeland in both 2022 and 2023.

The 14-year-old's competitive potential has already been recognised by the governing body of world motorsport and one of the teams on the current F1 grid.

She took part in the FIA Girls on Track competition in partnership with the Ferrari Driver Academy, and in 2023 she was a member of Alpine F1's prestigious Rac(H)er programme which empowers females in motorsport.

    how THE JOURNEY STARTED

“I wasn’t just given my first racing kart; I had to earn it through small jobs over a few months. My family supported me from the beginning, as karting was a new experience for them too.

“I initially competed in races with my family as mechanics, a used engine and equipment, as well as a limited budget. But that didn’t stop me from driving and proving that nothing can faze me. I’ve constantly pursued my goals and will continue to do so.”

    More than a kart racer

Chiara’s attention to detail is a large factor in her success. In the critical moments before a race, she analyses various data sheets and visualises the race ahead instead of listening to music.

It is this consistency which contributes to Chiara’s ability to be a quick learner, and her success in Chess at under-8 level is further evidence of her analytical mindset.

To maintain her athleticism, Chiara takes part in sports such as swimming, skiing, snowboarding, and cycling.

Alongside her on-track achievements, Chiara is also passionate about helping others. As an outgoing athlete, she regularly coaches aspiring racers at her local kart track in Wohlen, Switzerland.

Chiara loves to interact with others, and her fluency in multiple languages including German, English, and French, helps her to share her knowledge and experience.

    Chiara currently competes in:

    CIK-FIA World Championships OKJ

    Champions of the Future OKJ

    CIK-FIA European Championship OKJ

    WSK Super Master Series OKJ
